Rachel and her Co-founder, Chris Roepe, launched Figgy in 2021 to advance the idea of screen-free imaginative play — specifically in the play couch space. They went on Kickstarter with a $40,000 fundraising goal, which they hit in just eight minutes, and have been able to not only transform their category but also drive year over year business growth. Through a partnership with Newton Baby, Figgy is the first company to upcycle a crib mattress into a play piece and ultimately keep these items out of landfills, and it leverages other strategic partnerships to grow the business.
To drive additional brand awareness, Rachel came up with the “Play Pods” concept. These pop-up, immersive play experiences allow parents and children to interact with Figgy’s products in a hands-on and engaging manner. Play Pods have not only redefined the traditional retail experience but also have provided a platform for Figgy to connect directly with its primary demographic, moms, in a fun and casual way.
Rachel is committed to supporting parents; for example, she has successfully hired stay-at-home moms and mothers from other industries to join the Figgy team and build the brand community.
