Jennifer Lambert is responsible for overseeing the strategy and planning of the technology initiatives for Hy-Vee, a grocery retailer with more than 550 retail business units across eight Midwestern states. Overseeing a team of more than 25 employees, she works closely with retail operations and technology teams to identify new IT development opportunities and outline the work that needs to be accomplished to meet business needs and improve customer experiences.
A former software engineer, Jennifer brings high-level strategy and in-depth detailed knowledge to every task. And since joining Hy-Vee approximately two years ago, she has made a distinct impact on many areas of the company and has helped advance major technology initiatives, including the launch of its reimagined loyalty program, Hy-Vee PERKS. Jennifer outlined the requirements for the project and pulled together a team of about 50 employees to ensure the right knowledge and skillsets were included. She also helped ensure all digital functions were delivered on time to support Hy-Vee PERKS’ launch and implemented data measurements to monitor the progress of the rollout and to make real-time adjustments as needed.
Jennifer’s understanding of customer needs and how to solve a variety of potential issues on the technology side led to a successful rollout and sign-up process for Hy-Vee PERKS. Within only the first month of the program launch, Hy-Vee was able to enroll more than one million customers into the program. This year, Jennifer was named one of Mass Market Retailers’ Most Influential Women.
