How do you explain your profession to people outside of the industry? What do you find most exciting and/or rewarding about this work?

Amila’s dedication to elevating customer experiences and fostering a people-centric culture has been instrumental in the opening and growth of 40+ UNTUCKit stores locally and internationally. For example, she helped launch the UNTUCKit University platform, powered by YOOBIC, which consolidates all employee training and learning resources into one accessible location, which has transformed the way UNTUCKit employees access knowledge and share best practices.

Amila also deeply values mentorship and career advancement for employees within the company. She created the internal Training Mentorship Program to provide a three-month guided experience for those seeking growth. She also designed a store manager leadership onboarding program, complete with a 90-day succession plan and immersive experiences with corporate and market/training managers. These initiatives, alongside the “Open Office” virtual sessions, exemplify Amila’s commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and advancement within the company.

Amila’s contributions to the retail community extend beyond UNTUCKit. During her prior role as Senior Training and Development Manager at Burberry, Amila elevated the selling journey and established a custom-designed 90-day induction program for General Managers to ensure a hands-on, comprehensive onboarding experience for those completing their initial 90 days with Burberry.
