How do you explain your profession to people outside of the industry? What do you find most exciting and/or rewarding about this work?
My profession is to send communication to all associates working in our American Eagle, Aerie, Offline & Unsubscribed stores across North America. This communication includes anything store associates need to know including their leaders (District Managers and Regional Directors).
What I find most exciting about my work is how much it changes day to day. Retail is a fast-faced industry and I thrive in that environment. Also, the people make my job very rewarding. Being able to support our store associates and watching how much AEO supports stores and the community is great to see. It is rewarding to work for a company that cares.
What milestone or accomplishment have you made in your career that you are most proud of?
Even with the pandemic hitting the U.S., we successfully rolled out a new communication platform and had amazing feedback, even during this tough time. Another thing I am proud of is my team. I took over the communication team about three years ago, and seeing the progress we have made surrounding communication is amazing to see. I am so proud of how my team has grown and changed over those past three years, as well. We truly work as a well-oiled machine and we could not do anything without every member on our team!
What is one notable achievement (personal or professional) that you've made over the past year?
My biggest notable achievement over the past year has been becoming a new mom and still going back into my full-time job. I was very nervous to become a new mom and still have a focus on my career, which was my ‘first baby.’ However, going back to work was like riding a bike; it came so natural. I actually think I am more focused and better with time management after becoming a mom. My daughter pushes me more than anyone has ever pushed me to be a better person at work and in my personal life.
What is a piece of media that has inspired you professionally?
I am a big advocate for ‘StrengthsFinder,’ as it has helped me understand the way I work and how I work with others. I really enjoy all podcasts from Brené Brown, she has a great outlook on things and is a strong woman I admire.

After 10 years of marriage and 15 years together, my husband and I welcomed our first child this year!
