How do you explain your profession to people outside of the industry? What do you find most exciting and/or rewarding about this work?

I am part of an incredible community of creative geniuses, problem solvers and craftspeople who come together to create retail moments. Every time you walk into a store and experience a brand or purchase a product, someone has carefully thought of building this experience for you. I’m part of this magic.

What milestone or accomplishment have you made in your career that you are most proud of?

Being in an industry that is in constant reinvention is really inspiring. I love how every challenge is so unique and has an opportunity to be solved in a way that no one has solved before. I’m hooked on the evolution of a project — really from napkin sketch brainstorm sessions, to prototyping, fabricating and then finally seeing it in-store.

What is one notable achievement (personal or professional) that you've made over the past year?

I’m proud of shattering the glass ceiling and becoming the owner of a manufacturing facility that is dedicated to building products for the retail industry. Today, I’m an advocate for diversity and equity within my business. I’m building a female mentorship program to help build the female leaders of tomorrow.

What is a piece of media that has inspired you professionally?

The book “Awaken the Giant Within” from Tony Robbins (followed by a few of his conferences) has really shifted my view on my professional life.

Please share one fun or surprising fact about yourself:

I have started taking piano lessons this year. After pushing my kids into lessons I realized that I was the one who really wanted to learn how to play. So I just went for it!
