While on maternity leave with her son, Gerbig started selling items in online marketplaces to make ends meet. What started as a temporary source of extra cash ballooned to a full-time job beyond her wildest dreams. In 2014, Gerbig took her passion for helping women feel beautiful and her keen eye for fashion to start Pink Lily. Despite its humble beginnings in her Bowling Green, Ky. garage, Gerbig runs what is now a multimillion-dollar online retailer of women’s apparel, footwear and accessories. She gives back to her community through a number of charitable efforts as well as through local job creation. The past year brought the creation of Pink Lily’s very first collection with influencer Caitlin Covington and Pink Lily Luxury Tan, the brand’s exclusive self-tanning line. Like many clothing retailers during the pandemic, her company also reworked their apparel line to include an expanded array of loungewear and stay-at-home styles. Notably under Gerbig’s leadership, Pink Lily received two separate honors from the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce: the Bowling Green Community Impact & Investment Award in 2019 and the Targeted Industry & Business Award in 2020.
