Robert Timothy Blair

Retail Operations Manager

HanesBrands

Blair recently made the jump to HanesBrands after a four-year tenure as a manager of retail operations and customer experience with White House Black Market (WHBM). At WHBM, Blair was a strategic problem solver whose many experiences in retail helped him lead teams through influence and not by pulling rank. Whether inside a store or the boardroom, Blair led by outlining expectations, managing touch points and holding his colleagues accountable for high standards of quality and process adherence. In his previous role at WHBM, Blair acted as a trainer, coach, project manager, facilitator and collaborator. He also streamlined department productivity by 120%; developed an associate-customer engagement strategy that generated more than $25 million in revenue over 2019 and 2020; and cultivated strong relationships with colleagues and customers alike. It will be exciting to see how Blair implements his strengths in his new role at HanesBrands.

PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENT OF THE PAST YEAR

Supporting retail during the pandemic and being sensitive to social positioning while staying relevant and connected with customers — not just to “sell” them product but to just be there to connect.

A PIECE OF MEDIA THAT INSPIRED ME RECENTLY

One of my all-time favorite books is Trading Up. Even though it is a bit older, the premise of consumer behavior is everlasting. I love digesting ALL materials related to customer shopping behavior and patterns. Identifying these behaviors helps to make us better retailers in the end. Also, I stay connected to all high-fashion materials and runway shows. Keeping an eye on future trends and styles only helps me to keep my brands relevant and in touch with our customers.

FUN FACT ABOUT ME

I’m a road trip warrior and will travel every weekend! I LOVE trying new places, seeing new things and trying new experiences — always pushing forward.
