Randi Lawrence

Senior Associate

CallisonRTKL

With a background in interior design and lighting design, Lawrence brings a unique perspective to her work at CallisonRTKL. She infuses a passion for art, design and storytelling into all of her projects, including multiple 7-Eleven flagship stores, Porter Port Imperial Restaurant in Weehawken, N.J., and the Buff City Soap flagship in Dallas. She was recently promoted to Senior Associate at CallisonRTKL, and colleagues see her as a professional who brings a lot to the table during the conceptual stages of development, and who remains strongly engaged through a project’s completion. Lawrence is considered a strong mentor both in and out of the office, volunteering with Texas Christian University’s interior design program, giving guidance on portfolios, leading studio critiques and helping to place interns. At CallisonRTKL, she frequently participates in pro bono causes and design competitions that keep the company active within its community.

PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENT OF THE PAST YEAR

This past year, my husband and I began renovating our home and have done all the work ourselves. We have had very few opportunities to actually leave our house, so a lot of our energy has gone into resurfacing and painting walls; designing and constructing built-in bookshelves; and even welding together a dining room table. Our house is starting to reflect our personalities and is something we are proud of!

A PIECE OF MEDIA THAT INSPIRED ME RECENTLY

The documentary Leaning into the Wind, which follows artist Andy Goldsworthy and how he creates environmental art using only natural materials found at the site of construction. It is visually breathtaking and explores his creative process, from delicate painting installations to massive structures. I always believe nature is the greatest designer, and this documentary was extremely inspiring.

FUN FACT ABOUT ME

I have a French bulldog named Winnie, and she is potentially the cutest dog on the planet (she definitely is).
