Bucking the trend of direct-to-consumer businesses opening physical locations, luxury jeweler Jean Dousset sought to expand business from its sole brick-and-mortar shop in Los Angeles into two new DTC ecommerce brands, Jean Dousset and Oui by Jean Dousset. Doing this during COVID-19 was no small feat, and Weiss led the way. By devising a more efficient supply chain and digital-first experience, she contributed significantly to the creation of the Oui line of affordable luxury engagement rings. Weiss also led the go-to-market strategy for a collection of everyday jewelry products under the Jean Dousset brand to diversify the company’s reliance on revenue from engagement rings. Revenue in this new jewelry product category increased by 50% during the pandemic. She led the architecture of two ecommerce sites, innovating in digital customer experience. This includes the development of a proprietary digital diamond feed and custom ring design tool, called Your Dream Ring, which was nominated for a 2020 Webby Award for Technical Achievement. Weiss also oversaw user interface/user experience designs, as well as various integrations including Google Analytics, customer relationship management and email.
